until recently, when i started messing around with cameras purposefully, i felt that the manipulation of color to fabricate a visual was somehow cheating: a #nofilter puritanism. at the moment, i think that the point of an image is not to convey reality, but to create one. so the crafting of color, object, lens and perspective can all be subservient to the intended message of the image without compromising the integrity of the visual (because that’s not where its truth lies). that is a very long-winded way of saying that this is a very manipulated image but doesn’t it look cool?
